A day of learning  about transport  for Talisstar children  09th /03/2025
Talisstar ‘s theme of the week “transportation”. As a climax to our week-long adventure, we visited the Port Bell Landing Site, a bustling hub of railway activity. This field trip was a thrilling conclusion to our transportation theme, providing  the children with a unique and interactive learning experience.
As we arrived at the Port Bell Landing Site, the children‘ were filled with excitement. They were fascinated by the sight of trains, locomotives and railway tracks stretching as far as the eye could see.
Our guide, a knowledgeable and friendly railway staff member, welcomed us warmly and began to explain the history and operations of the railway system. As we toured the facility, the children were taught about the train and the ship.
They also enjoyed watching the trains move along the tracks, blowing their horns.
Throughout the tour, our children asked thoughtful questions and demonstrated their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. Our guide was impressed by their knowledge and interest in transportation, which they had gained through our theme-based learning activities. As we boarded our bus back to school  children chattered eagerly about their favorite parts of the tour and what they had learnt. Talisstar teachers  were delighted to see the children so engaged and motivated.
In conclusion, our visit to the Port Bell Landing Site was a resounding success. It provided the children with a unique and interactive learning experience, reinforcing their understanding of transportation and its importance in our daily lives.
We are grateful to our parents for enabling  us have unforgettable learning experience. As we continue to explore and learn about the world around us, we look forward to many more exciting adventures and discoveries.

Empowering young minds at Talisstar  16th/ 03/2025
Talisstar Pre-School celebrated International Women's Day with great enthusiasm and favor. As part of our theme-based learning approach, we dedicated the entire week to honoring the remarkable contributions and achievements of women. The highlight of our celebrations was inviting mothers, grandmothers, aunties and all other women of substance in the children’s lives to join us in our school routines, providing them with an opportunity to engage with their children and experience our learning environment firsthand.
Our teachers  shared inspiring stories of women who have made a significant impact in various fields, such as science, art and social justice. These stories not only educated the children about the accomplishments of women but also instilled in them a sense of admiration and respect for the women in their lives. The mothers were impressed by the engaging and interactive learning activities and they appreciated the opportunity to be involved in their children's educational journey.
In conclusion, our Women's Day celebrations at Talisstar were a resounding success. By inviting mothers to participate in our school routines and engaging the children in activities that promote gender equality and empowerment, we reinforced the importance of valuing and respecting women. As we continue to educate and inspire our children, we remain committed to promoting a culture of inclusivity, diversity and equality.

Promoting hygiene and sanitation at Talisstar 24th/03/2025
As part of our theme-based learning approach, we dedicated the entire last week to teaching children the importance of maintaining cleanliness and proper hygiene practices. The highlight of our theme week was the active participation of the children in cleaning their classrooms and picking up rubbish in the compound.
During morning circles, the teachers emphasized the significance of hygiene and sanitation in our daily lives. The children were taught about the importance of washing their hands regularly. They also learnt about the proper disposal of waste and the need to keep their surroundings clean.
One of the most engaging activities of the week was the classroom cleaning exercise. The children were divided into small groups and assigned different tasks, such as dusting, sweeping and wiping down surfaces. They worked together enthusiastically, using cleaning materials and equipment provided by the school. This activity not only taught them about teamwork and responsibility but also instilled in them a sense of pride and ownership in maintaining their learning environment.
Another exciting activity was the rubbish pick-up exercise in the compound. This activity taught them about the importance of proper waste disposal and the need to protect the environment.
By engaging the children in hands-on activities, it promotes a culture of cleanliness and responsibility. As we continue to educate and inspire the children, we remain committed to promoting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
